Sunburst KL ‘08 made its presence felt when an estimated 1000 people turned up at our Early Bird Promo Event on February 3rd, 2008 at Connexions, Pavilion.

Tickets, priced at RM200.00 with a 30% discount during the Early Bird period, were being snapped up as early as 10.00 am when the ticket counter opened for the day.

Natalie of Hitz.fm got the crowd going with games & quick quiz sessions which saw lucky winners walking away with prizes such as CONVERSE & TUBORG merchandise, F1 Tickets and CDs from EMI MUSIC and SONYBMG.

At 4.00pm newcomer Najwa started the ball rolling by rendering her own original songs. With her sweet looks & awesome voice, she mesmerised all that were present.  Next up on stage was Reza Salleh, backed by his band which comprised of bassist Melina of Tempered Mental and slick guitarist Hanafi from famed rock band Estranged. Reza picked up the tempo with his songs, which got the crowd asking for more. When Hujan, the band that everyone was waiting for, came on, the crowd went wild.  Belting out hits from their 2 EPs such as ‘Pagi Yang Gelap’, ‘Gundah’, ‘Kuala Lumpur’ and ‘Aku Skandal’, Hujan gave the crowd an indication of what to expect from their performance at Sunburst KL ’08 on March 15.

Joining in the fun was ERA.fm’s Skuad ERA Avanza to announce the Early Bird Promo Event at Pavilion and to create awareness about Sunburst KL ‘08.

It was a truly successful day where everyone enjoyed themselves.

2) Launch of the Malaysian F1 Grand Prix in Singapore

On Friday 15th February, 2008, the Malaysian F1 Grand Prix was successfully launched by Sepang International Circuit (SIC) in Singapore at Ngee Ann City (Takashimaya) on Orchard Road.  The launch was held to promote the Malaysian F1 Grand Prix which will be held from March 21 to March 23 at the Sepang International Circuit to motorsports enthusiasts in Singapore.

Pineapple Concert was also in Singapore to promote Sunburst KL International Music Festival 2008, where we had a booth selling tickets at the roadshow for Malaysia’s biggest music festival this year. At the launch was Malaysia’s very own Hip Hop artist, Joe Flizzow, who will be performing at Sunburst KL. Joe performed 2 of his hit songs ‘KL’ and ‘Air Force One’. As a treat, Joe also performed, ‘Rapakan’ a song from his upcoming album. An estimate of 1500 to 2000 pax attended the 3 day event.

Tickets were on sale for SGD88.00 and a special promotion was run for the first 200 lucky ticket buyers where the winner stands a chance to win a Travel Package worth RM2500 to watch Sunburst KL ’08 courtesy of Go Holiday Air Asia which includes 2 return air tickets from Singapore - Kuala Lumpur, one night hotel accommodation and Meet & Greet passes with one of the International artists performing at Sunburst KL ’08 on March 15, as well as limited edition of Sunburst KL ’08 merchandise.


3) KLGP City Launch
On the 21st of February, Kuala Lumpur City Hall and Kuala Lumpur Tourism Action Council in collaboration with Sepang International Circuit, STYLO and Pineapple Concerts Sdn Berhad attempted to get the fiesta, fashion and music fever going at full throttle by organizing an official launch aptly themed “Celebrating 10 Great Years with 8 Grand Events” at KL Pavilion.
The launch was Officiated by the Chairman of Sepang International Circuit, Datuk Mokhzani Mahathir. Also present at the event was Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Ab Hakim Borhan and Tourism Ministry secretary-general Datuk Dr Victor Wee.
Sunburst KL International Music Festival 2008 is also proud to be included as part of Kuala Lumpur Grand Prix City 2008 programme, in conjunction with the 10th Edition of Formula One Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix 2008.

At the official launch of KLGP City 2008, Sunburst KL gave the audience a little preview of the music fest with a performance by Atilia at the Bintang Circle, Pavilion KL.

The evening started by a fashion show, showcasing creations of Melinda Looi, along with a song by Syafinaz.

Atilia made her appearance at about 3.30pm, singing beautiful songs from her new album Sangkar. Reza Salleh and Camelia was also present at the event. http://www.junkonline.net/node/666
