From his humble beginnings, Tompi is now one of Indonesia's celebrated singer / songwriter. Brought up on traditional Aceh music and dance, Tompi with the guidance of gurus Bertha and Tjut Deviana was transformed into a soulful, charismatic vocalist, forever pushing the envelope of vocal textures and sound effects.  2004 saw Tompi brought forth into the limelight, when his hit song 'Something's Wrong' from the multi-ethnic album 'Bali Lounge' hit #1 for three straight weeks on the MTV Asian Charts. Thereafter in 2005, he released his self titled album 'T' with the support of Lewis Pragasam and Marina Xavier. The song 'Selalu Denganmu' hit #1 in a matter of weeks, stamping Tompi's presence in Indonesia's music history.
